Lesson 3 - Coal & Coal-Bed Methane Coal dominates the electricity generation in the US, providing the raw energy for more than half of the electricity we use. Coal's features, its formation, its extraction from mines, and the cleaning processes it goes through are the lesson's main topics. And with Pennsylvania's rich coal history, mining safety and lots of other interesting pieces of PA history will also get a lot of air-time in this lesson.
